The digital scrapbooking (expert mode) interface has remained the same, so if you use the program primarily for digital scrapbooking without photo editing, you may not need to upgrade if you have a recent version.
The new features focus on photo editing and creative additions that work well for sharing on social media. This version is a fun upgrade if you use PSE for photo editing and creating images for social media. Remember that you get a discount if you upgrade from an older version. If you can't afford the upgrade, consider putting it on your wish list for later or give Santa a few hints. The versions after 2018 especially have such significant improvements over older releases that you miss out if you don't have a newer program. If you are using a version older than PSE 2020 and can afford to upgrade, I recommend it. I deleted the ist file on the mac, rebooted and it still doesn't work.After years of doing this, I already know the question I will get asked the most - "Do I need to upgrade?" - as always, my answer is, "It depends." After a few hours I realized if i used the internal display it works. I pick an adjustment there, and then it immediately snaps back to the original and closes the sub menu. After hours of troubleshooting, uninstall/reinstall, i finally bought the 2023 version. Nothing happend to the colors of the displays, but man did it break the Quick editor.
I switched them to see what would happen. I noticed there were 2 different color profiles listed as "Samsung". I ended up in the color profile of the external monitors on the macbook display settings.
I was making some quick edits to some photos and the fact that the color of the 2 externals didn't match by a tiny bit bothered me. I have 2 x samsung m7 series 32" external monitors, and the macbook display. First time posting here so go easy on me.
